Divine Calling and Humble Beginnings:
in November 2019, Minister Kristen Baker felt a divine calling to initiate a Bible Study aimed at bringing hope to those disenchanted with conventional church experiences. With a vision to foster meaningful discussions on often overlooked Biblical topics, she gathered a small group of eight individuals. Through word of mouth, the Bible Study gained traction, its impact reaching beyond Columbia and South Carolina. Amidst the pandemic, the group seamlessly transitioned to a virtual platform, expanding its reach to over 50 subscribers, marking the humble beginnings of what would later be known as “The Healing Place” (THP).

Inspired by Psalm 107:20, Minister Baker christened the ministry as “The Healing Place” (THP) after approximately 14 months of its inception. What started as a modest Bible Study evolved into a beacon of hope, resonating with individuals seeking spiritual nourishment. THP’s influence transcended geographical boundaries, embodying its mission to provide solace and guidance to a broader audience. As THP gained momentum, Minister Baker, now ordained as Elder Kristen Baker, discerned a divine prompting to elevate the ministry to a formal church, laying the groundwork for a transformative journey.
Foundational Pillars and Spiritual Vision:
*With a fervent commitment to prayer and seeking divine guidance, Elder Kristen Baker embarked on the journey to establish THP as a church. In January 2021, THP introduced weekly prayer sessions, solidifying its core values and principles. Through prayer and introspection, six foundational pillars emerged: Prayer, Generosity, Excellence, Creativity, Honor, and Teamwork. These pillars served as the bedrock of THP’s ethos, shaping its spiritual vision and fostering a community built on faith and fellowship
Gala, Inaugural Worship, and Growth:
After meticulous preparation and unwavering faith, The Healing Place was officially launched on the weekend of April 29-30, 2023. The launch was celebrated with a gala event and marked by the inaugural worship service, symbolizing a significant milestone in THP’s journey. As THP commemorates its one-year anniversary, the community reflects on the remarkable growth and transformation witnessed. Through powerful teaching, dynamic worship, and a vibrant community, THP continues to inspire hope and facilitate spiritual growth, embracing the future with gratitude and anticipation.

Kristen Baker stands as a prominent figure in leadership, orchestrating worship productions, conferences, and community service initiatives geared towards both personal growth and spiritual development. Renowned for her unwavering commitment to excellence, Kristen firmly believes that the pursuit of excellence is imperative.
Throughout her formative years, Kristen showcased her leadership prowess by directing choirs and spearheading singing groups. Her academic journey led her to attain a Bachelor of Science in Music, specializing in vocal performance, from Columbia College in Columbia, SC.
Diversifying her portfolio, Kristen is the proud proprietor of CRS Media Agency, a media firm, and MD Publications, a publishing company where she is also an author. Among her literary accomplishments, Kristen authored her debut devotional, “iHunger: Strengthen Your Connection with God in 21 Days,” which is accessible on the YourVersion Bible App. Additionally, she released the latest installment of her i3 series titled “iListen: God Speaks” in August 2019.
At the core of Kristen’s ethos lies her life motto: to blaze trails and build bridges for the advancement of the Kingdom. She ministers the gospel through various mediums, including preaching, worship, music, conferences, concerts, and literary works. Kristen ardently advocates for the belief that God is always speaking, and our lives are profoundly enriched. when we heed His voice.
